Massage & Bodywork Therapist

Work With Me

I am a massage and bodywork therapist (NCLMBT #13426) and somatic educator. I work individually with people on their path of self-discovery.

“I feel, therefore I can be free.”

My Approach

Integration of mind, body and spirit as well as social context and impact is at the heart my approach to bodywork and body-based practices. Honoring our physical experience is a way to access and shape our much larger story. As more of our experience is welcomed it becomes more possible for us to live present, resilient lives and align our actions in the world.

I work individually with people seeking more connection in their daily lives. I bring my whole experience to each session, blending several modalities and offering options to support what resonates with you the most. All of my offerings are designed to support you with curiosity and attention to your direct, felt experience.

I’m so honored to support folks as they deepen their relationship with themselves. This work is a gift and a delight. I look forward to working with you.

It has been so helpful to have Megan be a guide… encouraging me to breathe and make space to listen to my body. Her energy and practice are rejuvenating. She takes the time to get to know you, your body, and your intentions for each session.

Offerings

Integrative Massage Therapy

I practice a wide range of massage styles (modalities), from structural work to address fascial restrictions, to light-touch nervous system support. I take a whole-person, collaborative approach to design treatments based on your intentions and consent. Your intention will guide the modalities used.

  • If you are interested in care for your physical body as part of your health care and wellness journey, this offering is for you. Maybe you often feel disconnected from your body, you experience ongoing pain or fatigue, or you're curious if the benefits of massage (like stress relief and increased quality of motion) would support your health. You want a massage that addresses your unique concerns and intentions.

    Each Session Includes:

    – Intention setting and the opportunity to really land your intention in the body. This often includes some more specific self-reflection or assessment in support of your intention, and might include movement when appropriate.

    – Massage Therapy that aligns with your intention.

    – Our time ends with space for observation and self-reflection.

Recommended frequency based on your needs, generally every 2-6 weeks

Mindfulness-based Bodywork

An intentional blend of mindful embodiment and hands-on bodywork, this offering supports healing connections between the mind, body, spirit and social context. Together we will work with your intention to skillfully notice your direct felt-sense, supporting your body’s wisdom and innate ability for healing.

  • This offering is for anyone ready to work with the body as an entry point to deeper compassion and healing. Maybe you are working with a mental health practitioner and want to also dedicate time to building a relationship with your body, and with yourself as a body, as part of your healing. Maybe you're living with ongoing physical discomforts from past injury or trauma and want support in caring for yourself. Or maybe you're interested in practicing mindfulness that includes the body.

    Each Session Includes:

    – Intention setting and mindful embodiment self-study. We can include a formal mindfulness or body-based practice if that aligns with your intention.

    – Depending on your intention, this embodiment exploration can lead towards hands-on bodywork, ranging from light-touch nervous system support to myofascial massage. We will always go over and collaborate on what the hands-on treatment includes.

    – Our time together ends with space for observation and reflection.

Recommended 3-6 month commitment with appointments every 1-4 weeks

Embodiment Coaching

A supportive mind-body process (also called somatic coaching or mind-body coaching) of discovering what you desire and building your somatic intelligence. We will work together to better align your habits, patterns, and practices so you are more able to take consistent action towards what you care about.

  • When we bring clarity about our longings into our daily lives, we can begin to shape our actions to align with what matters most. This offering is for anyone seeking guidance to identify and move toward what matters most, connecting with your own somatic intelligence as your guide. Maybe you want to move toward a goal or growth edge in your life, and want to bring your whole self –mind, body, spirit, and social context– with you. Maybe you've had great transformational insight, but felt stuck around how to bring that insight into your daily life. Embodiment coaching helps hold the container of compassionate witnessing and accountability for your growth.

    Coaching Sessions Include:

    – Intention and inquiry based practice offered seated or with guided movement depending on your needs

    – Self-study: Guided body-based mindfulness practice to connect with your felt-sense, building embodied awareness

    – Skill-building: Exploration of somatic insight and action

    – Support and guidance for your home practice and integration into daily life

Recommended 6 month commitment (min) with appointments every 1-3 weeks. We can meet in-person or virtually.

I am not a licensed mental health care provider. This work is therapeutic but not psychotherapy.

As a dancer, and person I have found bodywork to be helpful not only in relieving pain, and inflammation, but also in moving stress, trauma, and emotions/memories that are held within my deep tissue… I tell people that it's the most gentle myofascial release massage I have ever had, while there is pressure, it has made me realize that pain does not have to accompany the release of pain. [You offer a] level of care and intention, from the questions you begin with, to the physical supports, to the questions we close the session with. Working with you feels like a therapy session. You take your time, and truly listen to the (my) body.

I had no idea what bodywork was [but I] recently came to the awareness of how trauma is stored in the body. I worked with a therapist for months prior that spent a significant amount of time getting me to be aware of how my emotions were manifesting in my body… After this year, I have the privilege of feeling things fully... the sorrow and the ache of grief AND the fullness and the depths of joy.”
